WindBorne Systems is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team in Palo Alto, CA. The role involves building and maintaining backend systems to process and analyze large datasets from smart weather balloons.
About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering the backbone of weather forecasts and insights. Your daily tasks will include building data pipelines to analyze global datasets and ensuring high-reliability, low-latency data transfer. You will work closely with product leadership on various projects, primarily focusing on coding and system design.
About You
Required:
2-3 years of post-graduate work experience contributing to and maintaining enterprise-scale codebases.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Experience with backend engineering for large-scale data systems.
Preferred:
Familiarity with Ruby and Rust.
Understanding of or interest in weather and geospatial datasets.
Familiarity with scientific computing and numerical methods.
