Summary
Stratolaunch is seeking a Test Operations Engineer to join their team in Mojave, CA. The role involves leading high-speed vehicle test planning and execution for air-launched test vehicles.
About the Role
As a Test Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing test strategies, coordinating with engineering teams, managing test readiness, and supporting flight test activities. You will also contribute to test data analysis and ensure operational priorities are met while maintaining effective relationships within a small design-to-flight team.
About You
Required:
- Technical aerospace leadership or experience, including supervision and training in a technical environment.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize tasks on their own initiative, and drive projects to completion.
- Ability to lead a large team, make decisions, communicate requirements, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Previous experience with new, experimental, or modified aircraft, launch vehicles or spacecraft.
- Experience with engineering, scheduling, and test data analysis tools such as IADS, JIRA, Epsilon 3, and MATLAB.
- Knowledge of risk management or safety management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours and travel periodically.
- US Citizenship / Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or similar technical foundation.
- Flight Test Engineer graduate of a recognized test pilot school course.
- Experience with launch vehicle or aircraft requirements verification.
- Experience with launch vehicle, air-launch, or high-speed flight programs.
- Experience with government flight test organizations, ranges, and procedures.
- Experience operating in a classified work environment or with classified hardware.
- Existing TS/SCI Clearance.
