Verily is seeking a Staff IT Data Architect to join their team in Dallas, TX. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing a modern data stack to enhance healthcare delivery through data-driven solutions.
About the Role
As a Staff IT Data Architect, you will be responsible for architecting scalable data pipelines, modeling data for analytics, and enabling robust BI and reporting capabilities. Your tasks will include developing ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing semantic layers in Looker, and maintaining architecture diagrams and governance policies for data flows.
About You
Required:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar senior data engineering role with hands-on expertise in dbt, Fivetran, Python, and Looker.
- Strong SQL skills with experience optimizing queries for performance.
- Solid understanding of cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Expertise in modern data stack best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD for analytics (e.g., dbt Cloud, GitHub Actions).
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
- Experience integrating with APIs for data ingestion.
- Familiarity with the full life-cycle of database operations.
- Experience with Salesforce and Workday data sets.
