Summary
Newberry Group is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for a potential contract in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves ensuring the operational security posture for DOD IT systems.
About the Role
As a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), you will lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity architectures for both classified and unclassified systems. You will collaborate with system owners and developers to ensure secure configurations, provide mentorship to junior personnel, and ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity frameworks.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- At least 5 years of experience in information assurance or cybersecurity roles.
- DoD 8140 level II certification.
- Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working in a DoD or military academic environment.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
- Familiarity with Air Force cybersecurity processes and tools.
- Knowledge of classified and unclassified system environments.
- Strong leadership skills.
