Metal is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in New York, NY. The role involves building AI-native products that blend speed, intelligence, and simplicity across both frontend and backend systems.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer, you will own core parts of the product, design and build scalable backend services with Go and MongoDB, implement UI components using React and Tailwind CSS, and collaborate with design and product teams to prototype new workflows. You will also contribute to architecture decisions and drive performance and usability across the platform.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer working on production systems.
- Strong backend development experience, ideally in Go and MongoDB.
- Comfortable working in frontend frameworks like React and Next.js.
- Familiarity with building and scaling cloud-native applications on AWS.
Preferred:
- Experience working with or around AI/GenAI products.
- Familiarity with vector databases or agent orchestration frameworks.
- Exposure to real-time search, ranking, or large-scale data pipelines.
- Prior experience in a startup or lean, fast-moving engineering team.
