About the Role
As a Senior Writer, you will work closely with the Editorial team to produce blog posts, articles, op-eds, multimedia scripts, fact sheets, policy briefs, reports, webpages, and other publications. You will collaborate with various stakeholders through the production process, serve as a liaison between Communications and program teams, and keep up with current events to pitch relevant content ideas.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or applicable work/life experience in lieu of a degree.
- Background in journalism, publishing, communications, or a closely related field, with experience in rapid response and narrative storytelling.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Record of published content and proven track record of bylined work for mission-driven organizations or news media.
- Passion for and commitment to the transformation of the criminal justice and immigration systems.
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity skills.
- Emotional intelligence and good judgment in team interactions.
- Detail-oriented project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- 7+ years of writing experience.
