Summary
ICON Consultants, LP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves performing structural analysis of hardware for various applications including flight hardware and oil field components.
About the Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting classical and FEA analyses, ensuring structural integrity through detailed calculations, and assisting project managers in meeting customer needs. You will prepare presentations, documentation for design approvals, and generate reports for hardware certification.
About You
Required:
- BS or MS in engineering field such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or equivalent and 10-15 years direct experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with commercial CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of and experience meeting industry standards and specifications such as NASA, AIAA, API, ASME, and DNV.
- US citizen
Preferred:
- 15-20 years of experience with commercial analysis software packages such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, NASGRO, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and Mathcad.
- Experience with classical analysis texts such as Bruhn’s Analysis and Design of Flight Vehicle Structures.
- Experience with APIs, automation and scripting using VBA, Python, or equivalent.
- Experience with product development of components and assemblies involving metallics in the plastic regime, fabrics, polymers, and composites.
- Direct experience with Aerospace/NASA Hardware and Oil Field related products.
