About You
- Strong commitment to social, economic, and racial justice.
- At least three years of practice as an attorney, primarily in litigation in state and federal courts.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
- Membership in the Virginia State Bar or eligibility to become a member promptly.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- At least 2 years of practice in one or more of LAJC's areas of practice.
- Experience in affirmative litigation.
- Experience with class action litigation.
- Experience coaching or mentoring others in litigation.
- Experience working for a public interest law firm or legal services organization.
- Proficiency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken by the communities served.

The Legal Aid Justice Center partners with communities and clients to achieve justice by dismantling systems that create and perpetuate poverty. Justice means racial justice, social justice, and economic justice. Achieving justice means: - Integrating individual representation, impact litigation, policy advocacy, and organizing strategies. - Working in and with communities. - Identifying and addressing root causes while mitigating acute impacts. - Expanding impact in an effort to reach all Virginia communities.
