Summary
State of Colorado is seeking a Senior Literacy Consultant to join their team in Denver, CO. The role involves supporting the implementation of the Colorado Reading to Ensure Academic Development Act (READ Act) and managing professional development contracts.
About the Role
As a Senior Literacy Consultant, you will be responsible for providing guidance and professional development to districts and schools in support of scientifically and evidence-based reading instruction for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and students at risk for dyslexia. Your duties will include managing contracts with professional development vendors, evaluating training needs, collaborating with internal personnel, and organizing training sessions for educators.
About You
Required:
- Master’s degree in literacy, reading, elementary education, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in public education including elementary classroom experience and at least one year of literacy instructional leadership experience.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for supporting culturally and linguistically diverse learners and students with disabilities.
- Experience developing and providing professional development for adults in the science of reading.
