About You
- 5+ years of experience as an Environment Artist in the video game industry, with at least one shipped AAA title.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, and Unreal Engine (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of environment art pipelines, including modeling, texturing, lighting, and optimization.
- Exceptional artistic skills with a keen eye for composition, color, lighting, and detail.
- Experience with PBR workflows and creating assets for real-time rendering.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating immersive game worlds.
- Experience with procedural generation tools (e.g., Houdini) or shader creation.
- Build and light environments using Unreal Engine to ensure cohesive aesthetics and mood.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5.6 and Nanite, SpeedTree, PCG, Houdini and UGC.
- Comfortable working with stylized or semi-realistic game worlds.
- Knowledge of level design principles and how environments impact gameplay.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git).
- Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of Gearbox's titles and fanbase.
