WEX is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering, Health and Benefits to lead their Health & Benefits Technology team in Dallas, TX. The role involves leading a team to design and implement innovative employer benefits solutions.
About the Role
As a Senior Director of Engineering, you will mentor a cross-functional team, drive change within the engineering department, and define the technical vision and strategy. You will oversee the design of scalable applications, lead full-stack development, and integrate emerging technologies like generative AI. Your responsibilities also include cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; OR demonstrable equivalent experience.
- At least 15 years of experience in software engineering.
- At least 10 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Excellent leadership ability to motivate teams and drive results.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with C#, Python, Docker, and modern RDBMS (i.e. MS SQL, Postgres).
- Familiarity with ASP.NET RESTful API design, Kafka/event-driven design, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm/ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, NoSQL databases, GraphQL, and AI Tooling.
