Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Windsor, CT. The role involves supporting accounting close, cost accounting, and reporting functions in a well-established manufacturing company.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will own month-end close tasks, perform cost and inventory accounting, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial reports. You will analyze manufacturing costs, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with accounting controls. This position requires collaboration with various departments to resolve discrepancies and optimize processes, as well as mentoring junior staff.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing or production accounting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting concepts, inventory valuation, and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, analysis); experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close deadlines.
Preferred:
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
