Summary
Golden Technology is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team in Chapel Hill, NC. The role involves assisting Energy Services management with multi-departmental contract oversight and procurement of goods and services.
About the Role
As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for securing vendor quotes, ensuring the correctness and completeness of procurement packages, processing requisitions for purchases requiring a Purchase Order, and coordinating with Central Purchasing for timely completion of the procurement cycle. You will also assist the business services team in ensuring on-time payment of critical vendors and provide support in contract interpretation and defined pricing.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree; or associate’s degree and two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Basic working knowledge of state and federal procurement laws, contract law, purchasing practices, and quality of goods/commodities and/or services being purchased.
- Ability to interpret and apply proper procurement methods and procedures for routine purchases.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records of some complexity accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to establish, develop and maintain relationships with departmental personnel, vendors, and other customers/clients.
- Superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Adobe.
Preferred:
- Knowledge and/or experience working with an integrated system that supports effective procurement and accounting business processes and a Preventive Maintenance (PM) work management system (example – Maximo).
