City Of Kingman is seeking a Public Safety Call Taker to join their Kingman Fire Department team. The role involves providing critical support in public safety by answering emergency and non-emergency calls.
About the Role
As a Public Safety Call Taker, you will be the first point of contact for citizens needing assistance. Your responsibilities include receiving calls for police, fire, and emergency medical aid, entering information into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, and ensuring timely updates. You will need to remain calm and empathetic while gathering essential information from callers, often in stressful situations. The position requires working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
About You
Required:
Graduation from High School or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D).
18 years of age or older at time of hire.
Experience performing work with multiple priorities and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with the public, responding to inquiries and providing information.
Basic experience in computer terminal operation.
Preferred:
Experience in emergency communications or a related field.
Certification in CPR and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD).
