Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a Program Manager to join their team in Knoxville, KY. The role involves overseeing the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program to assist Veterans who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
About the Role
As a Program Manager for the SSVF program, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the program under the direction of Veteran Services leadership. Your duties will include providing outreach in local communities, supervising and training staff, maintaining program budgets, ensuring compliance with policies, and advocating for Veterans' needs. You will also be tasked with building relationships with relevant agencies and service providers, conducting employee evaluations, and maintaining program documentation.
About You
Required:
Bachelor of Social Work or an undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.
Demonstrated ability in family needs assessment, advocacy, counseling, and working cooperatively with local service providers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high degree of organization, and creative problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
7 years of experience in the field without a degree, or 5 years of related work experience as a Veteran.
