City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a Principal Planner to join their team in Saratoga Springs, NY. The role involves performing advanced professional and managerial duties related to land-use policy setting, city planning, zoning, and economic and community development.
About the Role
As a Principal Planner, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive land use plans, municipal ordinances, and public policy documents. You will coordinate with the Administrator of the Office of Planning and Economic Development, provide staff support to the Planning Board, and supervise subordinate staff. The position requires substantial communication with various stakeholders including public officials, civic organizations, and developers.
About You
Required:
Master's Degree in Planning, Urban Geography, Architecture, Public Policy, Geographic Information Systems, Public Administration, Economics or a related field with three years of related experience; OR
Bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields with five years of progressively responsible related experience; OR
Bachelor's degree or higher with eight years of progressively responsible related experience.
Valid NYS Driver's License.
Preferred:
American Institute of Certified Planners certification.
