Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Engineer Services Specialist to join their team in San Diego, CA. The role involves providing Software Configuration Management (SWCM) program support and performing a variety of technical and administrative tasks.
About the Role
As a Principal Engineer Services Specialist, you will support product lifecycle management and work in a dynamic environment where evolving program priorities dictate individual task priority. Your responsibilities will include configuring identification, coordinating Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), managing software version control repositories, capturing and releasing software builds, managing software licenses, supporting audits, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
About You
Required:
General knowledge and understanding of configuration management and software development concepts.
Understanding of automation scripting concepts such as Perl and Python.
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred:
Knowledge or ability to learn how to be a Scrum Master.
Ability to read engineering drawings and knowledge of product structures.
Familiarity with documentation systems such as Common PDM.
Familiarity with software management tools such as ClearQuest, ClearCase, Subversion, Git, GitHub, Jira, and Pipeline Jenkins.
Familiarity with Agile/DevOps software development.
Familiarity with operating systems Windows and Linux.
Active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
