About the Role
As a Police Trainee, you will be under immediate supervision, participating in police academy training that includes lectures, demonstrations, and practical sessions. You will engage in physical training and learn about law enforcement, Texas penal codes, firearms, traffic laws, and community relations. The position requires responding to emergency incidents and performing protective services as qualified.
About You
Required:
High School Diploma or GED or higher.
Six months of general work experience involving public contact, or two years of full-time active military service with an honorable discharge.
Valid Texas Class 'C' Driver's License or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years of age by the State Basic Peace Officers Examination date.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Honorably Discharged Legal Permanent Resident.
Preferred:
Experience in public safety or law enforcement.
Prior military service.
