About the Role
As a Patient Care Associate, you will be responsible for assisting nurses in assessing, planning, and evaluating patient needs. Your daily tasks will include performing selected patient-related activities, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic treatments. You will also communicate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality patient care and maintain a safe work environment by following organizational procedures.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Program required.
- Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- CPR certified.
Preferred:
- Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures.
- Successful completion of a formal training program including direct patient care activities and technical procedures such as O2 Saturation, EKG testing, Phlebotomy, and finger stick testing.
