As a Parent Caregiver- HCBS DSP, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with daily living activities, hygiene, meal planning, and community access. You will promote the rights and choices of those receiving support, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. The position requires collaboration with families and adherence to specific guidelines related to caregiving for minors.
About You
Required:
- Experience and education in the field of developmental disabilities or related field preferred.
- Desire and interest in working with people with disabilities or special needs.
- Verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Satisfactory background check and obtain Level One Fingerprint Card clearance.
- Reliable transportation to the work site and access to a telephone.
- Must complete training courses in CPR, First Aid, and Article 9.
Preferred:
- Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of people/families receiving support.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and respect for cultural differences.
