WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Mid-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join their Power & Energy team in Houston, TX, with consideration for locations in Seattle, WA, Boise, ID, and Hailey, ID. The role involves developing instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects.
About the Role
As a Mid-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, you will lead and support design efforts on multi-discipline projects, including instrumentation design and selection, control system wiring and logic design, and field commissioning support. You will coordinate with colleagues in other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors, while exercising responsible decision-making and adhering to company policies.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years of Instrumentation and Controls experience
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Essential Professional Licensure
- Previous experience leading a group of engineers
- Experience with PLC hardware/software and configuration
- Experience with power generation processes or power plant control systems
- Network and SCADA Design
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Visio, Access, etc.
