- High School diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission approved pharmacy technician training program.
- Licensure by the Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission required.
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
- USP 797 and clean room training required to compound sterile products.
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.

The hospital is the only Level III Trauma Center in eastern Puget Sound. The hospital is distinguished for its cardiac services and its award winning surgical services. The hospital has received many awards and recognitions, both regionally and nationally. Overlake was originally started in 1960 by community volunteers, and still depends upon volunteers to support the operations of the hospital.
