Optum is seeking a Medical Director - Post-Acute Care Management to join their team remotely. The role involves overseeing utilization and communication with network physicians and hospitals to improve health outcomes.
About the Role
As a Medical Director, you will provide daily utilization oversight, conduct peer-to-peer clinical case reviews, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers. You will also collaborate with various teams to develop action plans and ensure the successful administration of Care Transitions' services, while providing leadership to maximize cost management.
About You
Required:
- Current, unrestricted medical license and the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
- Board certification as an MD, DO, MBBS with a current unrestricted license to practice.
- 3+ years of post-residency patient care, preferably in inpatient or post-acute setting.
Preferred:
- Licensure in multiple states.
- Understanding of population-based medicine, preferably with knowledge of CMS criteria for post-acute care.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment while completing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven excellent organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
