MetalTek International is seeking a Machinist, CNC for the 2nd Shift position in Waukesha, WI. The role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating NC/CNC controlled lathes and machining centers to perform various machining operations to precise tolerances.
About the Role
The Machinist will set up, adjust, and operate NC/CNC lathes or machining centers to perform turning, boring, threading, contouring, milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, and angle and taper cuts. Responsibilities include working from routings, process sheets, and blueprints, using precision instruments for setup and inspection, assisting in establishing program requirements, making machine adjustments, reporting program problems, recommending tooling arrangements, mounting and securing tooling and fixtures, instructing new or less qualified operators, and running secondary or auxiliary machine operations when applicable.
About You
Required:
- Two or more years of CNC turning experience.
- Solid knowledge of machine shop and CNC techniques.
- Solid background in shop math and blueprint reading.
- Experience in use of hoists and cranes.
- Ability to lift up to 38 lbs.
- Personal tools and willingness to buy tools as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with Fanuc controls.
- Experience on large diameter vertical lathes.
