Summary
GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to join their team in Lynn, MA. The role involves overseeing product quality review associated with the manufacturing process and ensuring adherence to internal standards.
About the Role
As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will analyze disruption drivers in the manufacturing process, establish inspection and control plans for sheet metal fabricated jet engine components, and lead improvement methods for inspection techniques. You will also determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and communicate effectively across the organization while owning the overall state of quality within the manufacturing cell.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience plus 3 years manufacturing experience.
- Manufacturing shop floor experience.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and collaborative leadership abilities.
- Analytical-minded problem solver with critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information succinctly.
Preferred:
- Sheetmetal fabrication experience (die forming & punch press processes).
- Experience with recognized problem solving tools (5Why, Fishbone Diagram, etc.).
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) experience.
- Experience with Process Failure Mode Element Analysis (PFMEA).
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Experience or exposure to AS9100, NADCAP, or equivalent 3rd party industry audits.
- Experience with First Article Inspection and management.
- Exposure to statistical process control (SPC) and alternate inspection frequency in manufacturing.
- Focused, quick learner who strategically prioritizes work.
