Health First is seeking a Lab Assistant - Pathology to join their team in Melbourne, FL. The role involves providing quality laboratory diagnostic service and support functions to ensure optimal support of the laboratory department.
About the Role
As a Lab Assistant - Pathology, you will support the Laboratory Manager and other staff in all phases of laboratory testing, including processing lab specimens, quality control, inventory management, and customer service support. You may perform CLIA waived testing and assist in various laboratory sections as needed. Compliance with policies and procedures, effective communication, and time management are essential.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must pass color blindness test and be proficient in required computer applications.
- Strong skills in critical thinking, prioritization, organization of tasks, and communication skills (written and verbal in English).
Preferred:
- Current enrollment or completion of a post-secondary technical or clinical program in biological sciences and/or related field.
- Clinical Lab Assistant Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology CLA(ASCP).
- 1 year in clinical healthcare laboratory or any clinical healthcare setting.
- Laboratory skills (knowledge of pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phases of diagnostic lab testing).
