Summary
RGP is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant to join their team in a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. This position is expected to last six months or more and involves executing day-to-day accounting and financial close responsibilities.
About the Role
As an Interim Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring proper non-profit and GAAP accounting, recording accounts payable activity, booking general accounting journal entries, performing month-end close activities, account reconciliation and analysis, recording cash transactions, creating documentation for desktop accounting procedures, automating processes where possible, and performing financial statement variance analysis.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's or other advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a hands-on accounting function.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or non-profit accounting.
- Significant experience working in a non-profit, faith-based company, small company, or start-up company.
- Strong Excel, financial systems, and data skills, including process automation experience.
Preferred:
- CPA designation.
- Strong accounting documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be proactive and self-directed.
- Desire to work within a mission-driven faith-based organization.
