Summary
WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Chief Inspector to join their team in Glastonbury, Connecticut. The role involves supervising construction inspection teams and ensuring compliance with safety standards in highway, bridge, and rail engineering/construction projects.
About the Role
As a Chief Inspector, you will assign and supervise construction inspection team members, review daily work reports for accuracy, keep the Resident Engineer informed of field operations, participate in meetings to ensure safety compliance, and communicate with contractors regarding work schedules. You will be responsible for ethical decision-making and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 11 years of acceptable inspection experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills of technical documents.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and harassment policies.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional Engineers license
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Engineer-in-Training certification
- NICET IV or acceptable equivalent ASCE grade
- Specific experience with CTDOT construction projects that include highways, bridges, rail, and other transportation related type projects.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
