Summary
Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Service Technician V to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves diagnosing and repairing electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products.
About the Role
As a Fire Service Technician V, you will receive service calls, diagnose equipment problems, perform repairs, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service. You will work with various fire and life safety systems, interpret technical documents, and participate in an on-call rotation while mentoring others on the service team.
About You
Required:
- 5-10 years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems.
- Valid Fire Alarm License.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and operational/product manuals.
- Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labor including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual positions such as climbing ladders and working in crawl spaces.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred:
- NICET Level II certification.
