Summary
Compucom Staffing is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team onsite in Athens, GA. The role involves providing hands-on end-user support, focusing on hardware, software, and network troubleshooting to ensure smooth store operations.
About the Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Your daily tasks will include performing hardware repairs, part replacements, and software installations, as well as supporting network connectivity issues and providing technical assistance for point-of-sale (POS) systems. You will maintain accurate service records and coordinate with remote support teams and vendors as needed.
About You
Required:
- Minimum 1+ years of hands-on IT support experience, preferably in a retail or field service environment.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with POS hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
