About the Role
As an R&D Engineer 2, you will work closely with a diverse group of engineers and technicians on initiation train design, high explosive detonator testing, and experiment fielding. You will be responsible for the engineering knowledge required for the design and testing of products, utilizing statistical analysis techniques, and working with computer-aided design tools. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while determining objectives and methods for assignments.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 4 years of related experience in electrical, chemical, optical, or mechanical engineering or STEM scientific disciplines.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical engineering design drawings.
- Experience with computer-aided design tools such as Altium or other ECAD tools.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and scientific methods.
Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience with the NNSA Phase X Process and Defense Programs Business Process System (DPBPS).
- Experience in electrical board design and fabrication.
- Proficiency with ECAD tools such as Altium.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C, or other coding/modeling software.
- Demonstrated experience in a secure work environment or working with sensitive or classified information.
- Active Q clearance.
