Summary
Grand Street Settlement is seeking an Education Specialist to join their Youth Services team in New York, NY. The role involves promoting a safe and engaging learning environment for youth through tutoring and curriculum development.
About the Role
As an Education Specialist, you will oversee the tutoring component of the program, assess students' academic progress, create individual educational plans, and coordinate academic activities. You will also supervise academic tutors, conduct staff training, and engage with youth to determine their needs and interests.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience teaching and designing curricula.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Three (3) or more years' experience working with youth.
- Three (3) or more years' experience coaching or facilitating curriculum-based lessons.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in education or related fields.
- Experience working with youth in grades K-12.
- Valid CPR/AED Pro certification.
- Valid First Aid/RTE certification.
