About the Role
As the Director of the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate, you will oversee the implementation of operating procedures, manage a team to resolve taxpayer inquiries, and collaborate with various departments to address systemic challenges. You will also be responsible for monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), maintaining a database of taxpayer interactions, and developing annual reports to improve services provided to Maryland taxpayers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Four years of experience in tax policy or resolving complex tax issues, with three years of supervisory experience.
Preferred:
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with public engagement and outreach.
- At least two years of experience working in Maryland tax policy or administration.

Maryland Military Department
The Military Department is responsible for the Maryland Air National Guard, the Maryland Army National Guard, and the Maryland Defense Force. The Military Department also builds and maintains the armories and other facilities used by the Maryland National Guard. All State forms and records required for militia use and the reports and returns required by the federal government are prepared by the Military Department, and service records of all officers and enlisted persons who have served or are serving in the Maryland National Guard are maintained by the Department as well.
