GSK is seeking a Director of Translational Science, Hepatology to join their team in Waltham, MA. The role involves leading innovative translational initiatives to enhance biomarker strategies and improve clinical transition success rates in Hepatology.
About the Role
As the Director of Translational Science, Hepatology, you will be responsible for developing and executing disease biomarker strategies, providing strategic leadership in translational research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate biomarker strategies across the drug development lifecycle. You will also establish external partnerships to access advanced technologies and foster a network of experts in the field.
About You
Required:
Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Cell/Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pharmacology, Physical Chemistry or related field).
Experience in translational science and biomarker development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Recognised translational/biomarker expert in scientific community through publications and contributions to the field.
Understanding of translation and biomarkers implementation in Hepatology.
Experience of working in a clinical trial setting and authoring clinical and regulatory documents.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in Translational Research.
Proven track record of program decision making through implementing biomarker strategies.
Preferred:
Awareness of bioinformatic / computational methods for data analysis.
Knowledge and expertise in Fibrosis and ECM Biology.
Knowledge and experience in Steatotic Liver Disease (SLD).
Expert knowledge in application of clinical imaging in SLD.
