County of Bucks is seeking a Deputy Special Operations Coordinator to join their team in Ivyland, PA. The role involves assisting the Special Operations Coordinator with administrative and emergency response activities for special operations teams.
About the Role
As a Deputy Special Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining the County hazardous materials database, acting as the Special Operations Coordinator in their absence, and serving as an on-call Emergency Management representative. You will also assist in scheduling training and exercise plans, maintain readiness of equipment, and promote Emergency Management through community engagement. Additionally, you will perform damage assessments and disaster recovery, and may be activated in the county Emergency Operations Center or field during emergencies.
About You
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years’ public or private sector emergency response experience.
Knowledge of basic principles of chemistry, biology, and physics.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to interpret federal and state emergency management requirements and regulations.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Required to obtain PEMA Basic County Staff Certification within one year of hire.
Preferred:
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in oral, written, and graphic form.
Strong time management skills and ability to make decisions quickly and accurately.
Ability to coordinate diverse groups toward a common goal.
Experience in maintaining effective working relationships and developing partnerships.
