About the Role
As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws, serving legal documents, patrolling, apprehending suspects, and responding to service calls. You will conduct investigations, write reports, provide testimony in court, and administer educational programs in community-oriented initiatives. The role also includes assisting in crowd control, traffic direction, and responding to emergencies and disasters.
About You
Required:
- Must possess Basic License from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
- Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
- Must have GED or high school diploma
- Must successfully pass a background investigation and be of sound mind and good character
Preferred:
- Minimum of two years of law enforcement patrol experience
- Computer experience including spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications
- Good oral and written communication skills
