Summary
Koalafi is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team in Arlington, VA. The role involves scaling and modernizing their cloud native data platform to support data-driven decision making.
About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will design, execute, assess, and troubleshoot data pipelines using modern tools like Snowflake, Stitch, Databricks, and dbt. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and develop data solutions for enterprise production reporting. Your responsibilities will include conducting research on emerging technologies, contributing to data warehousing solutions, and ensuring high quality data standards through testing.
About You
Required:
- Four-year college or university program certificate in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Systems; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years’ hands-on experience delivering data solutions in production.
- Proficient in building data pipelines in a production environment that supports critical data output.
- Experience with construction or maintenance of modern or traditional data warehouse environments.
- Proficient with ANSI-SQL (T-SQL also helpful).
Preferred:
- 2+ years contributing to a data, analytics, or software engineering team.
- Exposure to a variety of ETL/ELT tools and approaches.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Python, Apache Spark library or other programming language.
- Experience building solutions with Snowflake, dbt, and Stitch Data (or similar technologies).
- Experience with source control tools such as Git, and familiarity with CICD concepts.
