Summary
Hospice of North Alabama is seeking a CNA / Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice Aide to join their team in Decatur, AL. The role involves providing dignity, comfort, and support to patients and families during critical times.
About the Role
As a Hospice CNA, you will provide personal care, monitor and report changes in patients' conditions, assist with mobility, help with medication assistance, offer emotional support, perform light housekeeping, maintain documentation, and collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team.
About You
Required:
- Meets the training requirements of the State.
- Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
- Minimum of six months experience including providing personal care.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Understands hospice philosophy and is comfortable providing care to the terminally ill.
- Satisfactory references from previous employers.
- Ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
- Secure with issues of death/dying.
- Provides a calm manner when in a patient’s home.
