Summary
New Directions Youth and Family Services is seeking a Child and Family Counselor - Per Diem to provide in-home and community-based services to Medicaid-enrolled youth ages 0–21 in Amherst, NY.
About the Role
As a Child and Family Counselor, you will deliver therapeutic interventions, counseling, functional supports, and psychoeducation to assist youth and families in achieving stability and functional improvement. You will work directly in homes, schools, and community settings, collaborating with community partners and maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field plus two years of related experience, or Registered Professional Nurse plus one year of experience, or Licensed Occupational Therapist or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.
- Strong assessment, counseling, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Medicaid requirements and billing practices.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.
