Montgomery County Government is seeking a Chief of Housing (Manager II, Grade M2) to lead the Housing Division in Rockville, MD. The role involves managing affordable housing programs and ensuring the production and preservation of affordable rental and ownership housing.
About the Role
As the Chief of Housing, you will oversee the Affordable Housing Program and Multifamily Housing initiatives. Your responsibilities will include managing complex acquisition and rehabilitation loan programs, providing recommendations for preserving affordable multifamily properties, promoting incentives for single-family affordable housing, reviewing land use plans, and coordinating the work of the Housing Division. You will also be responsible for drafting financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive labor relations environment.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in urban planning, community or housing development, multifamily housing finance, or related fields, with three years in a supervisory or executive capacity.
Preferred:
- Experience in planning and implementing housing-related policies and programs.
- Experience in affordable housing development negotiation and financing.
- Experience in real estate program financial management and control.
- Experience in human resources management and supervising staff.
- Experience in negotiating with government and community groups.
