About the Role
As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, you will conduct evaluations, develop treatment goals, and deliver age-appropriate recreation activities to meet patients' social, mental, emotional, and physical needs. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, participate in treatment planning, and coordinate community outings. The position requires weekend hours and involves maintaining documentation and supervising therapeutic recreation students.
About You
Required:
- CTRS certification by National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
- Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college or university.
- Experience working in a clinical setting with persons with disabilities.
Preferred:
- Clinical experience with brain injury rehabilitation and community re-entry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of leisure/recreation related assessment tools.

Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute is a comprehensive, post-acute brain injury rehabilitation program with multiple facilities in Galveston, Clear Lake and Lubbock, Texas. It was established in 1982 and has operated continuously since that time, providing in-patient and out-patient services to adult survivors of acquired brain injury. The clinical program provides integrated cognitive, behavioral, physical, living skills, and vocational rehabilitation services. Moody Neuro also operates a long term supported care facility for clients no longer able to live independently.
