Valley Health is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to join their Surgical Services team in Winchester Center, CT. The role involves facilitating safe and effective invasive surgical procedures under the supervision of a surgeon.

About the Role

As a Certified Surgical First Assistant, you will ensure the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that surgical procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. You will apply your expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures to assist physicians in performing invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

About You

Required:

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology course or certified surgical assistant.
Five years CST experience required (10,400 hours) or evidence of two years of experience functioning in a first assist role.
Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.

Preferred:

Completion of approved first assistant program or completion of an approved program within 24 months of hire date.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
