- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- Must obtain certification as a Central Sterile Specialist from IAHCSMM or CSPD within 2 years of hire.
- BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
- Previous Sterile Processing experience with a basic understanding of asepsis and sterile technique.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and the sterilization process.
- Physical and manual dexterity to handle delicate, expensive equipment.

CHE has a full range of pediatric subspecialists, as well as a pediatrics ER, ICU, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, providing the highest level of care in the region for premature and sick infants.
