Summary
Baltimore Aircoil Company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join their procurement team in Milford, DE. The role focuses on managing the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components for manufacturing processes.
About the Role
The Buyer will manage the end-to-end purchasing process, develop and maintain supplier relationships, coordinate inventory with production teams, oversee order issuance and delivery, identify cost-saving opportunities, collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams, monitor supplier intelligence, ensure compliance and documentation, and maintain procurement data and reporting.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a Buyer or Procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies and supplier management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), SAP preferred.
- Proven purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience negotiating contractual items with suppliers including price, terms, VMI, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with a bias toward action.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Working knowledge of the legal aspects of procurement and contract law.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management.
