Summary
AVONDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025/26 school year to assist children in a special education program in Avondale, AZ.
About the Role
As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, you will work under the direction of the special education teacher to provide intensive support to students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Your responsibilities will include implementing behavior management strategies, assisting in educational program development, and maintaining certifications in Crisis Prevention Intervention and First Aid/CPR. You will also facilitate communication between students and teachers and ensure compliance with district policies.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.
- Ability to pass a background check upon employment.
Preferred:
- Experience working with emotionally/behaviorally disabled/disordered students in a school, mental health, or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of child development concepts and practices.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention certification.
- First Aid and CPR training certification.
