Microsoft is seeking a Back-End Principal Software Engineer to join their Azure Foundational Security Services Team in Redmond, WA. About the Role
As a Back-End Principal Software Engineer, you will architect and build secure, scalable, and highly available services for identity issuance and cryptographic operations. You will lead cross-functional engineering efforts, define security standards, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure robust security controls and lifecycle management of identities.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C++, C#, Rust, Go, or Python.
- 6+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems.
- 6+ years of experience applying distributed systems concepts to build resilient back-end architectures.
- 6+ years of experience building systems with emphasis on reliability, durability, and operational efficiency.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- 6+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems with knowledge of authentication, data protection, access control, and secure coding practices.
