Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team in Abingdon, VA. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
About the Role
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will evaluate patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide direct therapy services, collaborate with other professionals, document patient progress, educate patients and caregivers, and maintain accurate records. You will also participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and stay updated with advancements in the field.
About You
Required:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or eligibility to obtain.
- State-specific license or certification (as required).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred:
- Experience in educational, clinical, or rehabilitation settings.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
