Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking an Airframe Structural Liaison Engineer to join their Engineering department based in Mobile, AL. The role involves providing engineering support for aircraft structure, managing technical solutions, and ensuring compliance with design and airworthiness requirements.
About the Role
As an Airframe Structural Liaison Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and approving technical solutions for repairs and design updates, acting as an interface between engineering and manufacturing teams, and providing engineering support throughout the aircraft manufacturing process. You will also be accountable for addressing non-conformities and driving product improvements.
About You
Required:
B.S. or M.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical or aircraft construction engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of experience in the aviation industry with preference to Airbus aircraft.
Experience in design of metallic and/or composite aircraft structure (airframe).
Knowledge in fatigue and damage tolerance justification.
Knowledge of stress calculations / justifications.
Knowledge of aerospace materials and corresponding corrosion protection/prevention.
Demonstrated success in identifying and solving problems.
Preferred:
Capability to train towards and obtain Design Office and Chief Engineering delegations for Commercial Aircraft.
Experience on Airbus aircraft.
Knowledge of Aircraft configuration management rules.
Experience with AIRBUS manuals (Structure Repair Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog etc.)
