About the Role
As an After School Classroom Leader, you will be responsible for implementing the program and schedule created by the Education Programming Specialist. Your daily tasks will include preparing the classroom, taking attendance, creating classroom expectations, writing incident reports, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for participants. You will also plan activities, assist children with homework, and promote participation in all activities.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Ability to relate well with individuals with varying needs.
- Ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
Preferred:
- Experience working with children in a traditional or non-traditional setting.
- Understanding and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
- Safety conscious.
- Good character demonstrated through words and actions.
